Boudie Babe Community Ambassador Guest Post: Meet Paige

I applied to be a Boudie Babe Community Ambassador for Erika because I was feeling SO confident when this process started. I was in a fantastic routine – work, gym, family and social life. Things were great. I was like “Yes, this will be the best year!” Just turned 30 in March, I was excited for the year and making it MY year.

I have worked with Erika a few times in the past couple years. She did my engagement, boudoir and wedding pictures. Each experience better and better. Erika has a way about herself that just makes you feel so comfortable, even the first time you meet her. She makes you feel so confident – which is one of the many reasons I wanted to be an ambassador. Hearing my name be announced on the live video was such a great feeling. I was actually super nervous and almost asked Erika to withdraw my application but I am so glad I didn’t!

Boudie Babe Community

Fast forward to meeting with Erika and the 3 other ambassadors chosen. Meeting the other Boudie Babe Ambassadors was great. We are all so different and it really shows you just how awesome Erika is. I love everything she stands for and the community she has made in the Boudie Babe community is amazing. Everyone is so inclusive and positive in the community. It really makes you feel like you are accepted no matter what.

Going to my first ambassador shoot I was a little nervous. That all changed when I got there and started chatting with Erika. The shoots are literally such a fun experience from hair and make-up, to going through the outfits you brought, and learning how to pose. Having already done a shoot with Erika I figured it would be exactly the same as my last but it wasn’t. She has so much knowledge in posing, angles and just fun things to do for pictures it was actually quite different. Which is one of the reasons I think everyone should experience a shoot with Erika. The feeling you get when you leave is amazing. And then seeing the incredible pictures she captured is even better. Even if you think you are awkward or not confident I promise you will feel different after a session with Erika.

So here I am writing my first blog post and man have things changed. Like I said at the beginning of all of this I was feeling the best I have ever felt. So confident and ready for the year ahead. Welcome Covid-19 – we are now on stay at home orders, I am working from home, schools cancelled and I have three children home 24/7.

It’s been a struggle.

If I said the past 6 weeks have been easy that would be a lie. I struggle with my mental health, a lot. This quarantine has really kicked my anxiety into high gear. I know that I am not alone in this but it’s hard to battle that little feeling inside when you already struggle with mental health in normal circumstances. Which is another reason I love the Boudie Babe community so much. There are so many people with such great advice, hilarious posts to take your mind of things, and just a friendly community to be in.

Erika has created such a welcoming environment, it’s a great place to go when you need to be reminded that you are doing the best you can, and that’s all that matters.
