If you’ve lived in Saskatchewan long enough, you know how fickle the weather can be, especially near the end of winter! Brianna, Devon, and I had originally planned to do their engagement session outside, in downtown Regina. As luck would have it, it was WAY too cold and windy outside to do much of the session outdoors. So, I suggested we head indoors to Regina’s downtown library for a cozy library engagement session. It was a nice alternative to freezing our butts off!
I guess I’m still a library nerd at heart…
I’ve been wanting to do an engagement session at a library for a pretty long time (every photographer has their own personal bucket list!). So, it was a no-brainer that we’d move inside to the public library downtown in Regina. Not all engagement sessions have to happen outdoors! 😉
Brianna and Devon’s cozy library engagement session turned out SO great – these two are total cuties and we can’t wait to capture their wedding later this year! Isn’t Brianna’s ring GORGEOUS?! It was custom made by Fire & Ice Custom Jewelry and Repair. I really love how the two sides of the band twist together, I think it’s really pretty! 😍
During our cozy library engagement session, I would give Brianna and Devon some instructions on what to do, or some silly things to say to each other. When we shoot engagement or couples sessions, we like to try to get the true emotion out of the couples we photograph which only happens when our couples interact with each other. Like, “tell her something you think would make her laugh”. We’re less about posing, and more about capturing the connection between the people we photograph. ❤
