Kayla and Wallace’s Science Centre engagement session was a BLAST! If you read last week’s blog post, you’ll already know how we came about deciding on going to the Science Centre for their engagement session. Whenever a couple approaches me about doing an engagement session, I always ask the same question first. “Where would the two of you typically go on a date, or what would you do for fun?” Kayla answered the Science Centre and I said YES!! PERFECT!! and so we headed over to the Science Centre and shot an engagement session for them.
We followed Kayla and Wallace around to all of their favourite parts of the Science Centre. We made bubbles, squished into tight spaces, and had our hair stand on end! We snuggled in close, drew with light, and stuck our tongues out. I can’t be the only one that got creeped out by the five senses “statue guy” as a kid, can I? No? Only me? Well, anyway…
It’d be impossible for me to summarize myself exactly how Kayla and Wallace’s Science Centre engagement was so perfect for them. So, here’s some of Kayla’s own words about their session, and why they chose the Science Centre as their location:
“Why did you choose the Science Centre for your session?”
“The Science Centre was a place we both enjoyed to go as children. We also went to a wedding reception there a few years ago (did you know that the Science Centre will host wedding receptions??), and we were reminded of how much fun we could have there as adults. Nerding out about Science is a common interest of ours, and we knew that doing our photos there was going to be a unique and memorable experience! (And the pictures came out even better than we could have imagined!)”
“What makes the two of you so good together?”
“We have lots of common interests, but also lots of differences to keep life interesting. We both just don’t take ourselves too seriously and we aren’t afraid to look silly in front of each other. We support each other fiercely and are very dedicated to making life easier for each other. We also trust each other enough to talk about anything and everything. We have taken a lot of time over our relationship to make sure it works for both of us because this one worth working for.”
“Tell us a funny story that happened to the two of you”
I actually laughed out loud reading this response from Kayla to this question. So I HAD to include it in their blog post. I think it pretty accurately summarizes how great these two are for each other. 😉
“On our second Christmas together, we both thought we were being so sneaky and kept hinting about how we both wanted to play “Settlers of Catan”. (We had both never played the game, but wanted to.) We kept seeing it places and would say things like, “Oh how neat, Settlers of Catan.” In some last minute Christmas Eve shopping, we were walking into a Calendar Club store.
Wallace looked at the big poster in the window and said, “Hey, Settlers of Catan, I still really want to play that sometime”. To which I replied, “Oh yeah, me too!” Now, at this point, we had both purchased our gifts for each other. And we had both bought each other Catan. So we both walked into the Calendar Club thinking, “Heck yeah, Great gift choice”. Only to open our gifts to each other later that day! (We ended up returning one and buying the expansion pack so that we could play with more people!)”
