Have you heard? THE SNOW IS MELTING!!! I am so freakin’ excited. To celebrate, I decided to pull this Wascana Trails bridal session from the archives. Looking back on this session, I remembered that last year was the FIRST time I’d even been out to Wascana Trails for a session! Last year I did two shoots out at Wascana Trails and let me tell you, I’m hella stoked to get out there again once the snow melts. Wascana Trails is a perfect place for a photo shoot. Especially near sunset. 😉
This Wascana Trails bridal session came about originally as a boudoir session for Tiffany. Tiffany had paid me a retainer back before I even had a legal business name, let alone a way to track clients! (A tip for photographers; Sprout Studio changed my business! Wascana Trails Bridal Session
Years passed, things were forgotten, and I crossed paths with Tiffany at a family event (she’s a family friend, too!). She reminded me that she still wanted to do that photo shoot, but wasn’t really into the idea of a boudoir session anymore. Tiffany mentioned wanting to get back into her wedding dress again, and just play around and take some bridal portraits.
I was immediately down for the idea. “Sure!” I said. “How about a Wascana Trails bridal session?”
So, on a chilly late September day, Tiffany and I found ourselves speeding out towards Wascana Trails in my trusty car that’s seen better days. We were running late so we were doing our best to try to make it out to Wascana Trails in time to catch the remainder of the evening light.
The result? The quickest session I’ve ever shot. I think we spent less than a half hour in the blowing wind at Wascana Trails, capturing these portraits for Tiffany. It was COLD that day! Don’t let that warm sunset light fool you. Tiffany was a total champ! My fingers were freezing, but I tried not to complain too much seeing as Tiffany’s shoulders were bare. 😹
Regardless of this being the fastest session I’ve ever photographed, it’s definitely in my top 5 favourite sessions from last year. No matter where our tiny home journey takes us, nothing will ever beat a good old prairie golden hour. 😍 Thank you for playing in the sunlight with me, Tiffany!
